Who Would Think?
Who Would Think An LLM Would Be Reliable?
Let’s take a common word.
“Not” can be an existential adverb – It could not be moved.
“Not” can be a logical adverb – it is simply not true.
“Not” can be an adjectival modifier - he is not happy.
“Not” can be an adverbial modifier – he is not really satisfied.
Finding the word “not” in a piece of text without
understanding its use makes whatever is doing that extremely unreliable.
Who would think that it would be reliable? Someone who
writes programs – each word in the program has a single meaning.
Do we really have to go through another slough of despond
while people discover text is a bit more complicated than they thought?
It seems so.
